i coloured my hair today! it's not blue and green at all anymore.
( these are some things which i have done lately. it's spring. )
( amanda is a cannibal. )
film photos, unphotoshopped entirely; i like that about it, the surprise, the candid...ness. candidacy. yes!

there are more in my film photos set on flickr.

I fucked up the colour something fierce on this photos, and tried to edit each one to improve it, so every photo has different colour... it's kind of neat.

The Heard is pretty much the best band ever... I think everyone should go see them live. A wicked drummer/singer/composer/musical guru, a wicked bassist, two guys on laptops and three hip-hop emcees, one of whom is a super foxy lesbian... what else could you want in a band?
i like posting photos... but i don't do it for a long time and then it becomes kind of overwhelming. these photos are all from july and august. many of them were taken at the studio, where i spent a lot of time this summer. good times all.
edited to add: argh, a lot of these apparently didn't upload to my website properly - which sucks because they're definitely gone to the ether now. :( i'm really sad. i think i still have the originals around but it's very frustrating. i lost a LOT of things in the grand computer switch - consolidating the contents of TWO computers to ONE new computer in a grand total of three hours... yeah, lots of failed transfers. :( sorry.

( here we go. studio days... )

this morning i was talking on the phone with my mother, asking her the best way to make shredded-potato hashbrowns, when i stopped in mid-sentence because i saw this:

the fixie fairies came in the night and installed beautiful pink velocity deep-v rims on my nishiki.
( +3 )
it was my birthday gift from this heavenly creature.

thanks homies for your collaboration with my sneakster of a lady. i'm so stoked. my cheeks hurt from smiling this morning.

i have a bunch of photographs to post and will do so tomorrow but for now here is a picture that amanda took of britt the evening of the last fuck off and dance party when they dressed her up all girly. i think she looks lovely.

this time last year i was doing a self-portrait-a-day project. i was riding my bike, taking lots of photos, hanging out with new friends.
this time this year it's too rainy and cold outside for the beach. i'm still riding the same bike, but i'm not taking very many photos. last night i photographed britt painting a mural on our living room wall and i photographed amanda making the most amazing supper ever - fresh homemade chapati wraps with hot spicy seitan, tomato, roasted red peppers, mixed greens, wild rice and black bean spread. maybe someday i'll upload those photos. it takes me forever.

( photo booth on the macbook makes me lazy. )

i photo documented my sunday starting with sunrise. we didn't sleep on saturday night; amanda, britt and i got home from the party around sunrise. please excuse our tired faces.
britt and i had planned a date day for sunday may eighteenth, so most of the pictures are of us.

on the 20th i went home. i was listless. didn't really take photos. my camera battery died at some point and i didn't bother recharging. i spent the flight writing, watching bad movies, and feeling nothing; it wasn't til i got home that it started to sink in. actually, it took a few days, even, for things to start seeming real again.
i think that eventually i'll make a little website with journal excerpts, my film photos, and of course these photos... just to document the whole trip, from burning man in august 07 maybe even all the way up to moving back to vancouver, which i'll be doing in the beginning of march 08.
(there'll be more. i have two rolls of film to develop from new zealand through to the end of my australian trip.)

melbourne, victoria, australia
population: about 5,000,000
melbourne is australia's second-largest city.
a juxtaposition of extreme modernism and old-fashioned
traditionalism, melbourne is a city of culture
and beauty. its many hidden lanes, bars
and restaurants tempt many an urban adventurer.

If you have updated to OSX 10.5 (Leopard) you may have also noticed that your menu bar is annoyingly transparent. I have a folder full of background images that change every fifteen minutes which means I have a really ugly menu bar. Thanks to Mac TidBITS, I've found this simple fix.
Also, because
liich expressed interest in it quite a while back, here are some photos of all of my tattoos. ( Not entirely work safe. )
Also, because
sydney, new south wales, australia
population: about 5,000,000
sydney, australia's largest city, boasts
a vibrant gay and lesbian scene, vegetarian culture
and beautiful scenery.
