thinking about stretching my ears more.
they're currently at the generally-accepted threshold for eventual shrinking. any bigger and, i am told, they will not return to a "normal" piercing size. but i want 'em bigger. they've been 00g for four years.

thoughts?

No!

so...you're probably comfortable with the idea of having them long-term. The surgery to repair them (if you wanted to) is more like just a couple stitches. And it really doesn't seem like you are headed into the square 9-5 business suit lifestyle, so you wouldn't have to change them for that reason.

for what it's worth, a lot of people find tattoos unattractive. if you're really undecided maybe it's better to stay at 00 because if it's not for you it won't be a hassle to shrink them.

hey, they're your ears and you can do with them what you like. and there's always surgery to repair them so they look "normal" when you're, say, 80 or so. ^_^
personally, i'm not fond of anything bigger than what you have on anyone. i just don't find them attractive in any way. but, like the one above, "that's just my own aesthetic opinion".

i find big plugs really takes away from how a person looks b/c the plugs make one's body look unnatural and misshapen. i'm not superficial, but your very pretty and i think the big plugs would detract from that. plus, your structure/frame is more on the petite side and the big plugs may start looking akward in comparison.

I think they look great as is, and once you start stretching it's really hard to stop. So when you find a size you're comfortable with it might be a good idea to stop lest you never find a place where you want to stop again. I've been considering going up to 3/4" but I have so much jewelery in 5/8" that it seems like a waste.

I am also of the camp who likes them as they are! Slightly bigger would be fine, but (keeping your features and general wardrobe in mind) anything much larger than what you have might look too big on you?

You could always try and find one of those fake bigger sizes though and just wear 'em about for a day and see how it goes?

Keep them as they are, I say. But I also hate ears that are stretched bigger than that, so it's a personal aesthetic.

I love big ears and cute girls, but that's just me. And it's not so much you can't go back down, you can always stretch up, if you don't like it, stretch back down to 00g. You may never be able to go back to a 18g regular earring, but you'll be able to get pretty close regardless of your ear size.

i agree here. my ears are at... can't remember, i think the one just above 1/2 and they don't interfere with style at all, people barely notice them especially when I don't wear tunnels. i've been intending to stretch to 3/4 forever and just can't find the time. if you've been at 00 for four years and you want a change, you won't regret stretching a little bigger and it will seem like a lot because it's been so long. and you can always go back to 00.

i love the feeling of having new, bigger earrings. it's like a sweet haircut. I like to play with identity and visuals, as I know you do. that's why we manipulate our bodies in ritualistic ways. it takes a great deal of patience and the reward is exquisitely pleasurable.

I guess I'm alone in thinking you should go bigger. Your ears look like they could handle 1/2" really well... but I'm also at 1" with intentions of stretching bigger, so maybe my opinion is skewed.
